That said, the math can work in their favor: when you account for the cost of a code-compliant fence (especially powder-coated aluminum, often required by HOAs), door/window alarms, and a separate winter cover, many homeowners find that an automatic cover is a cost-competitive—and far more elegant—solution.

2. Maintenance Requirements Like any mechanical system, automatic pool covers require regular upkeep. Motors, ropes, tracks, and covers need occasional maintenance and repair.
